I was selected to design a visiting artist lecture poster at Otis College of Art and Design for designer, Félix Beltrán in Collaboration with a Senior BFA design student, Louis Alvarado. Beltrán, is a cuban designer who worked during the Cuban Revolution for the Communist Party of Cuba. He also taught and does commercial work. Inspired by the work that he did during the Revolution we wanted to evoke the clear, and direct messages he used in his poster for our own. We also used materials that we had at our disposal, discarded neon and metallic poster boards became the canvas for our poster. It was such an honor to hear Felix speak about his work and to meet him in person.
